i want to know the difference between implicit and explicit UPN names.

what are their advantages and in what circumstances we should use either of them

To be honest UPN logins never really took off like people thought they would years ago.  Most organizations I've seen or consulted for either use the samaccountname or smart cards for login.  

The UPN becomes important during smartcard login but that is something the user doesn't see (admins do behind the scenes)
