Quick Release Adaptor for Camera Strap

I have a Canon G12.
I have a new Canon strap and I need a quick-release adapter for this strap, not a new strap.

Searches haven't turned up much.
Any recommendations?

Well, you said it. Searches don't turn up much and when even ebay has nothing to show the likelihood is that it is not available separately.

At the small amount the straps cost why don't you buy one and swap the release clips with that?

I hardly ever use my strap.  What do you use it for?
Go to your local hardware or craft store and purchase the appropriate quick release mechanism ( like this http://www.amazon.com/50-Side-Release-Plastic-Buckles/dp/B003R0RTEA ) for your existing strap and retrofit it.  You'll likely need 3/8" or 1/2".

cleo> at first I thought you were just being a Lizard, but upon reflection I wonder if your question wasn't serious?

Your basic around-the-neck camera strap serves two functions;
First it frees your hands while keeping your camera handy to grab for a picture.
This can be especially beneficial when you have to shake hands with someone while picking your nose.
The other function is that strap can stop that horrible slow-motion event that you watch [helplessly] as your camera squirms from your hands and plummets, lens first, to the {pavement, rocks, concrete steps} 5-50 feet below.
Straps are wonderful things.
The strap gets in my way.  I am known for the weird angles I put my body and camera in to take a picture.  I always put it around my neck but usually take it off within the first couple of shots.   I do try to wrap part of it around my wrist to save from dropping.
