Cannot install symantec endpoint client on windows 7 64 Bit PC

I have a windows server 2008 R2 SP1 running Symantec Endpoint Protection Server v11.0.6100.645.

I have a windows 7 64 bit OS that I would like to install the client onto.  For some reason it will not install.  I have tried doing it from the server as well as locally.  When I do locally I do not get any errors, basically the install goes for about 3 minutes and then just disappears.  On the server if I use the deployment manager it hangs at 4% completed.  If I use the symantec endpoint manager and do a search for unmanaged machines the PC will come up and when I try and do install at that point it just comes back failed with no other messages.
The UAC is off.

Just wondering if anyone else has seen this and if there was a workaround etc?

Better yet just get rid of SEP altogether, IMHO.  Symantec products seem to hog resources, even SEP 12.x, and take up disk space.  I recommend GFI's Vipre Business, YMMV.

Thanks for the info.  Unfortunately it isn't my choice on the AV product.  If it were I would have Symantec off there faster than you could blink an eye.  I don't like any of their products.
I will look into the upgrade though.
I also have clients on Vipre, very good solution...
