How to find which list is causing this error.
Hi,
We use Sharepoint 2007 Moss. At the root site when I log in as System Account I see this error message on top. How can I find where or which list is causing this error? There are many sub sites and lists under this root site so I really need more information on how to locate the problem list. Thank you.

I'd take a look at the Diagnostic logs first. Default location is program files/common files/microsoft shared/web server extensions/12/logs
DId you recently add/remove any solutions from the farm?

No, I haven't modified solutions form the farm. However, someone has added a new welcome page and using that gives that error as soon as we log into the root site. Do you know who would have the permission to add someone as a site collection admin? Is it the root site owner can do that?
I also looked into the log files area, C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\LOGS\2a08c1f
However, in there I found folders dated 7/14 and 7/15. I log into the root site and there was no recording of any log file for that 7/15 folder so I think the error is generated during the welcome page loadup. Apprarently the log doesn't record any error for the page load up.
