Outlook SharePoint Error with SBS 2008

At least one user is getting this error message in Outlook: "Task 'SharePoint' reported error (0x00040102): 'Outlook cannot connect to the SharePoint list (Companyweb - Calendar). The server may not be reachable from your location. ... An error occured connecting to http:// companyweb. A connection to https://remote.domain.com:987, an alternate Web address for the SharePoint site, will be attempted."

SharePoint is not configured on the server.

SharePoint isn't configured on your server?  How can that be?

Perhaps I'm using the wrong wording. I came across a sharepoint configuration wizard (?) somewhere which didn't appear to have been run. The company is just now utilizing Exchange server. The remote owa works, so I guess sharepoint is working.

Regardless, we are getting the above error msg and I need to find a solution.

I'm still here, but am very busy presently. Give me a day or two to get back to this.

Jeff,

I'm going to go ahead and close out this thread, assuming your suggestions will help me fix the problem when I'm able to get to it. Sorry for the delay.

Thanks,

Mark
