asked on Lion Remote Computer Name
Using an Windows 2008 Active Directory, my question is, where does Lion and Snow Leopard for that matter, get the remote login names? When ever we add a new Mac, the remote login name does not match the computer name we give the machine?

It should tell you in the Sharing preference pane in the System Preferences what name to use.

Yes it does, but my question is where is it getting the name? the name does not match the computer name we made the computer, ie... computer name is L1207-AP-123, but the remote login says: Other users can manage your computer using the address d0911-hp-089...where is it getting this?

Changing that does not change the remote login name. Where and how do I change that?
