exchange - domain name query

question 1.
i am going to name my servers the following and wanted to know if there would be any issues below: ?
- domain controller - domain name: msxchange.local
- domain controller - domain name: msexchange.gov or msexchange.gov.uk
ive been looking on: 123reg.co.uk - but wanted to check and ive been reading:

question 2. should my exchange be a 'domain controller or just a member server as im not sure if i should not configure in a domain and just leave as a 'workgroup' network ?

hi, yes i appreciate your comments and as for 50 users i thought for 'sbs software' it was upto 75 users unless difference between old/new version. :)!
ok maybe not - '.gov.uk'
i mean something like:
msxchange.local - used before
msxchange.gb.net - not used this type before so not sure if works ok ?
internal ad domain and email do not have to be same name - i could not remember but according to the 'url' i mentioned previously it was recommended.

sound advice!
i could setup my server as a domain controller for: ad/dns/dhcp, like i usually do and i suppose i could also install exchange server 2003 on to the same server but never done it that way before although this would free up 1 server for me to use as im just doing a test first to ensure i know how to practically configure it. as i did do it a few years ago and was able to send email out but not receive!!
