asked on

execute commands permanently (DMSOFF)

Hi,

The company has Autocad 2010, Bentley and Projectwise installed. Globally the company uses Projectwise, but we in our local office we do not. We have to execute it every time we run Autocad, so, can we just pass that command as an acad.exe startup parameter?

I am a little confused on what you are trying to accomplish, are you trying to create a single executable that will launch both programs, AutoCAD and ProjectWise, in conjunction?

No, to be more specific we have Autocad 2010 together with Projectwise and Bentley Autoplant. We want to avoid Projectwise from running until we start using it in a few months.

We can't uninstall it as the whole environment comes from a global image and should not be touched.

So, When we access autoplant, autocad opens, and we execute on the command line DMSOFF to turn off Projectwise. But we must do it everytime we enter Autocad.

I don't know if I can run Autocad with that command as a parameter. For example: "acad.exe /command DMSOFF". I can then save it on a link file. So, before running Autocad the command is executed automatically.

Thanks for the responses! I didn't know there was scripting on Autocad.
