EMC Clariion MirrorView - testing secondary images

I'm using MirrorView to mirror LUNS to a secondary SAN.  I'm trying to test them on the secondary SAN.   I have an ESX hosts attached to the secondary SAN.  I want to test the secondary LUN without promoting it so that it does not effect the primary LUN.  I've read that you're supposed to use SnapView to do it, but I'm unsure how to do it.  Any help is appreciated, thanks.

So far everything appears to be working.  The initial synch looks like it completed, but for the last several hours the state has been " Remote Mirror Synching".   Is that normal after the initial synch completes, should I just wait it out to see if it changes?
Page 76 of this document describes the state: http://www.emc.com/collateral/hardware/white-papers/h2417-mirrorview-know-cx-series-flare-wp-ldv.pdf

It's telling you that the mirror itself is synchronizing, but the clone itself is an exact copy of the mirror destination. Check the mirror state - it needs to be 'In Sync' or 'Consistent'. If it's 'Synchronizing' or 'Out of Sync' then you need to wait until the synchronization completes, or investigate why it's not complete.

Are you using MirrorView/S or MirrorView/A?

MirrorView/a
Cool. It may be that the MirrorView/A sync isn't finishing which may be a bandwidth or change rate issue (which boils down to the same thing).

How big are all the LUNs you're replicating?

What is your wan link and how much bandwidth do you have?

It finally went to a consistent state, I then fractured it and added it to the datastore.   Once in the data store I browsed it only to find that it was empty.  Any thoughts?
Missed a step somewhere I suspect. Can you run me through *exactly* what you did from start to finish please?

-First to create the clone I created the 2 128MB private luns
-then I created a lun the same size as the source lun and began synchronization
-I logged into the ESX Server and ran esxcfg-advcfg -s 1 /LVM/EnableResignature to turn on the resignature feature.
-fractured clone
- rescanned HBAs
- in vsphere I added the lUN to the storage and gave it a unique name
- then I browsed datastore and it was empty

I did it again and it worked.  I added it to the inventory, and tried to start it.  The I got another error -"Insufficient disk space on datastore"

To get it working I added an additional LUN and expanded the datastore.  Thanks for all of your help!
Pleasure! Glad I could help.
