Sending Calander Invites

Hi Experts,

I have a quick questions, hope you guys can answer.

My client wants to send out a calender invite to his customers about an event and he wants me to be in charge of this. I have never sent out 'mass' calendar invites. Can you guys please tell me the ways i can send out mass calendar invites? My main concern was, the customers might be using Outlook, Google calendar, Gmail, iCal, Thunderbird or Reminder as their calendar software. Is there a solutions that's compatible with all these applications?

Im also sending out a MailChimp newsletter to all of them, maybe it can be a link I can include into my newsletter?

Thanks heaps.

When you say Mass, how many are we talking about?

If Over 150, you really need to be careful that you dont get marked as a Spammer by our ISP or the Recipients ISP. Otherwise you could get blacklisted greatly reducing your ability to communicate with the recipients.

You are correct, various users are likley to be using various email / calendar clients
You are likley to get a mixed response from a few

If continuity is required across all users
using a Google Calendar and sharing it out my be your best bet.

However, the end users will still have to access it someone and or develop their own ways to keep up with it.

Personally, if it were me.

I would simply send out the invite to all required users via Outlook/Exchange
Most Email/Calendar Apps out there are exchange comatible
So you should get the majority of them

I would then pretty much leave it up to the end users on how the added the appointments to their calendars

I would also publish the calendar to a WedDav Server or Office ONline
I would then give all users access to the published calendar so they can view it, should they not be able to add or view your calendar invite due to their Email Client they have chosen

If using Outlook to send the Invite you should be able to attach the newsletter.
