Crystal Reports SERVER XI R2 SP2 or 4

I have SP5 for Crystal Reports XI R2 SERVER - but it requires that either SP2 or SP4 be installed beforehand (my original install disc are SP1); and I can't find either to download.  I have the desktop versions, but I can't find the server version service packs.

They don't make it easy to find.  Several of their suggested links ended up as 404 doesn't exist

Unfortunately, I've been there already.  Those are the desktop service packs --the server versions are different. They start with crsxir2xxxx and aren't mentioned.
I have better links to SAP at home.  I will try to find one there

Is there a specific reason you want to upgrade to SP5?

The reason they're not available is because Crystal Reports Server XI R2/BusinessObjects Enterprise XI R2 has been out of maintenance (no longer supported) since  July, 2011.

There's an SAP notification on the subject.  Here's a quote:

Because of product issues, SAP requests that all customers using Crystal Reports Server 2008 V0 and earlier versions migrate to one of the replacement products in the table below. The product issues prompting this notice are not related to any software virus or security concerns. As a result of these issues, SAP has ceased distribution of the impacted products and permanently removed them from its product offering.

If you have access to the SAP Support Portal, here's a link to the document.

You need to migrate up to Crystal Reports Server 2008 V1 SP3 or above in order to be at a supported version level and to continue to receive service packs, hot fixes, etc...  If you've paid your maintenance fees then you should be able to receive newer software at no cost.  If you haven't, then you'll need to pay to upgrade.

Looking through my personal archive, it looks like I might have a full build of CRS XI R2 SP4 (meaning CRS already patched up to SP4). This could then be patched up to SP5.  You would still need to do a full install and import in from your old system, however, which means you'll need a spare server.  Why?  If you want upgraded hardware then you would install the new software on the new server.  If you want to use the same hardware, then you need to install the old software on the spare server, import everything over from the first, uninstall and clean the original machine, install the new software and import from the spare server...

If you're going to go through all that effort, why not just upgrade to a newer version, anyway?
New server hardware.  Staying with previous version because 1) it works 2) upgrade costs are at least $6,000+ (for a company our size- this is the single most expensive piece of software we have)
--I don't necessarily need SP5 (just had that from upgrading current version), but I do need to have at least SP4 as we have ran across an issue fixed between SP2 and SP4 -- we can't use the program as it is with SP1 and I can't install the SP5 without 2 or 4 installed first.

Thanks-Jim
