Default internet program

My OS is win 7 Prof 64 bit and I use IE9.  Somehow although I have set many times the default program to open when IE opens, but start.iplay.com seems to open up and I cannot seem to get rid of it.  I do not see it under Control Panel if it is a program.  Please advise I can get rid of this taking control of my IE. Thank u

did you download any games?  check the control panel for games you installed - you may have to delete those to get rid of it.

Open Internet Explorer
Tools -> Internet Options
Programs Tab
Click the "Make Default" button

Additionally, you can click Start -> Control Panel -> Default Programs -> Set Default Programs

Click Internet Explorer -> Set this program as default
And Choose Defaults for this program and verify that everything is checked.

If you can't open IE at all, this is a different issue.

Open Internet Explorer
go to the page you would like to use as default (www.google.com, etc.)
Tools -> Internet Options
In the Homepage section, click USE CURRENT

Yes, misread the question.  Aindelicato's post is correct.

This sounds like when you open IE, it goes to start.iplay.com and not your set homepage and can't get it to stay at whatever you set it to..  Is that correct?  If so, you have a virus.  Run Hitman Pro.

In response to southpau, I do not install any games knowingly unless they piggyback some app that I was installing and did it without my knowledge.
There is nothing in the Control Panel with Start.Iplay.  I also have Revo uninstaller, and it does not show either.  So I am lost.

start.iplay.com is not a program, it is the start page in IE.  You can change it with the instructions above.

It's adware.  Follow the forum instructions and use their program.  Or use any virus scan like Hitman, Trend, Malwarebytes, AVG, etc...it should fix it.

In response, since I had Malwarebytes, I ran this program.  But when the results were displayed, the screen showed RegCure with more than 1,900 threats.  I am terrified what would happen to an unknown program.  Can I pse ask the advice of the Gurus what I should do.  Should I make a backup of the registry, make a restore point, and then clean the pc as suggested by Reg Cure.  Thank u.

A question though, does anyone know what Start.iPlay does, other taking front stage of my IE whenever it opens up.  If it is not malicious I think I can live with it.  But if it is a known trojan or malware etc. then it is imperative I get it out of my pc.  Thank u.

can you have malwarebtytes fix the 1900 problems?  the start.iplay page is just adware, that alone really is just annoying more than anything.  But if your AV says their are 1900 other threats then it is likely not just adware on your computer.  Fix the malware.
