lost custom menu function

Somewhere, somehow, my WP custom menus have stopped working. The structure is still there in the menu dialogue box, but the theme (even twentyeleven and twenty-ten) show the whole menu and not dropdown boxes.

At the same time, (may be related, probably not) the screenshot.png's have stopped showing up in the Select Theme dialogue tab

Not a biggie on the screenshots, but I need my menus to work. Obviously something got corrupted or misdirected, but what?

Thanks Sonic. Yes, turning off my plugins is always my first reaction when something strange happens.

As it turns out, I was building a child theme. When switching from one to another, the default navigation menu setting got turned off. I thought something was wrong with the child but I couldn't for the life of me figure out what it could be since you're only importing the same CSS.

Going back to my original theme, I saw it was now messed up as well and I started to panic. Always happens when I mess around with a live site instead of using a testing server.

Anyway, going into Appearance > Menus and resetting the dropdown box that sets the menu for the theme and all was well (except my forehead after I slapped it so hard).

I'm handing out points because you were the only one to come to my rescue in my hour of need [grin]
sometimes you get points just for showing up.
