IIS 6 move

i want to throw a third server into our existing environment that i could load balance between the three servers.  This server currently runs iis 6.  I have read (and tried it on a vm) that iis6 and sysprep don't work well.  So instead of cloning and running sysprep, i was thinking about installing a fresh copy of server 2003 R2 64 bit and moving iis settings.  Does any one have any experience doing something like this?  I have seen some articles on how this is done but i would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.  Thanks Experts!!!

Check this:

it includes the whole migration process.

You can try to migrate the site manually.

i cannot get the web server to work after using web deploy.  I just get 404 errors and service unavailable errors.  I will try to migrate manually and see what happens.

i ended up doing this manually as the migration never seemed to work.  Every time i would use web deploy the websites still would not work giving me 404 errors.
