Group Policies for Outlook are mostly for exchange server, nevertheless newer versions use autodiscover.<br />

At least as I remember, Outlook 2003 stores the SMTP / POP3 settings in binary format in the registry, for 2007 and 2010 not sure. <br />
If they are stored in the registry, you can just overwrite them by a group policy, which changes the settings to the right values. <br />
But I can check this first at the end of the week.
