I Know there are 3 types of port groups when we talk about VMWare.
3.Virtual Machine Port Groups.
Ok Below are my questions on them
1). VMkernel is used for vMotion , SAN, svMotion tasks , now what kind of IP address we use it for this port? Is it recommend to use an ISP provided IP address ( As during vMotion we may use WAN to transfer the VM's from one host to another) or we can use private IP address for this? What are the consideration to assign an IP address to it.
2).When I try to create one more VM Port Group (Host---->Configurations------->Networking----->Add Networking) , it is by default giving the VLAN Options? From where these VLAN's are popping up? Do we need to create these ? If yes , where and How?
3). Is it possible to see what port a VM is connected in a Virtual Machine Port Group which is defined say in vSwtich0?
4) . How to create Service console port ? I see only two option when I click on add networking at Host level ? My Understanding is , Each Host need one service console port ? Am I right Here.
Thanks in advance,
