How to make shared folder in linux using CLI?

Hi All,

I'm Newbie on linux... Sorry for asking this silly question:

How can i make shared folder (directory) in linux that can be accessed by any pc in the local LAN using the command line interface?

I'm using the below distro:
ubuntu-12.04-server-i386 installed in vmware 8.0.2
