Mail Archiving in Exchange 2010 for Schools
I've been asked by my company to setup mail archiving on one of our clients which is a school using Exchange 2010 "archiving" features.
They require to archive e-mail for at least 7 years. (Like many organizations in the state of NJ)
I was wondering if there is a way to archive e-mail instantly without interrupting the user's mailbox, meaning it will only copy the e-mails not move to an archive folder, so that the user can see the e-mail in their mailbox without having to go an archive folder.
Not sure if this is possible but wanted to see what my options were.
Also I read a bit about creating a journaling mailbox, what are the difference and would I have to use a combination of both.
Thanks!

With archiving you have an Option for "Custom Managed Folders" if you want to use.

Looks like I will be implementing journaling with archiving, to keep mailbox size down.
The school I will implementing this has about 70+ employees.
Appreciate any tips you can throw at me!
Once again thanks Rancy!
