I use both Time Machine and Time Capsule.  Once I upgrade to Mountain Lion, are there any gotchas I need to worry about?

    Accepted Solution

There have been reports that the initial backup or two after the upgrade can be very slow, but that problem seems to eventually resolve itself with time.

Try to run the first couple of backups manually overnight using ethernet.

Mountain Lion also breaks the odd app, VMFusion 3.0, for instance. (4.3 is the minimum for Mountain Lion).

Make sure all your software is up to date before upgrade to ML.

Thanks.  I am removing Fusion and installing Parallels after the upgrade.

Good advice about the upgrades.  I already upgraded Xcode.

You might want to upgrade to Parallels before upgrading to ML to make sure you can transfer your Virtual Machines.
