Hi ,
the Situation in Greece is horrible. On the top of this , thousands of illegal immigrants have inundated the country. Criminality rates are record high. How to save the country,,,
this is what should take place....
Exit EuroZone
back to drachmas
martial law , overthrown the goverment...they are worthless anyway and kiss MAerkel's ....
Get the special forces out of the militray bases , get them on the streets , within 24 hrs arrest ALL non Greeks , put them on a train and send them out of the border....
Start investments , build roads , build houses , apartments , stop public expenses , military expenses ( nobody will attack greece anyway...) , invest in police , crime prevention ( although without the undocumented immigrants crime levels will return to ..almost zero , like they were 3 years ago)
then the testing.....have a little girl , 6 years old walk by her self from Athens downtown to a suburb....( police is wathcing the "subject" ) ...if nobody "disturbs" the subject , then criminality has been resolved...and we are on a good track..
then a transitional goverment is formed until a formal election date
Elections take place and a democratic goverment is elected.
The reign of terror has ended,,,,the nightmare is over , Greece is back to its normal laid back , safe way of life....

walking through the borders without any papers and permission..that should be enough to arrest them. Also , stereotyping derives from statistics...statistics are never wrong. Numbers dont lie. Since they came , nobody walks any more at nights without fear of his/her life. Also , Greece is not NY. This is not a melting pot....and there is not desire to become one. Greece...is Greece...period. Greeks are not half italians half irish , half germans , half dutch , half martians...they are greeks...for the last 3 or 4 thousand years of course...

They have done this in the past succesfully , with " baits" , ladies walking at nights , old people , un attended cars...it has worked great in the past. Time to bring this measure back...

Actually is has. Ancient Greek democracy ( just FYI....) was based on a dictatorial regime. Women and NON - Athenians had no rights....slaves were used...who do u think built oall these monuments in Athens , Sparta , Macedonia...i am sure they did not used unions..
In all seriousness , 1967 - 1974 , Greek Junta was so popular , that if they had proceed into elections they would had gain close to 70% of voters...
I am NOT saying that totalitarian regimes is the way to go...NO. But even here in the states when people will come out and rioting i thing the Goverment will call the National Guard to restore order...
What happened to a loving God of forgiveness? ummm....nobody said that God forgives and loves alwyays.... read old testament....Jewes fighting left and right .... in just 5 verses i counted more than a million casualties....all NON- Jewes... See Sodoma and Gomora... see Noahs flood story. Left and right i see fire , judgement , torment , punishment , i dont see love and forgivness.. Call it God , call it Nature , call it Universe , Call It Bob , every systems that gets disturb will come back and bite you...this is how things work..
All in all this is a nice shallow and hate filled release of frustration, but do you honestly think kthis plan is something that would work?

but even one rotten apple is enough to inflict damage and pain....so we need to protect our values and heritage from the rotten apples...

UK government paid her way out of debt by selling nationalised industries such as the trains and the power stations to personal investors, maybe Grece could do that too. Sell some of the state owned infrastructure to international businesses. You might be bankrupt but you have a load of assets you could sell, bet you could get 100 million for the Elgin Marbles for example.

well , i am sorry if i sound mean and arrogant...but if UK is willing to sell the entire royal family to pay off the debt Greece is not willing to sell the national monuments...and u r right this is a huge gap in national pride and mentality. We love our heritage , we dont sell them to pay off a debt.
Maybe best solution is to default , it happened in the past , and start all over again. Many countries have done it in the past and within 50 years they were in better shape...
Oh , and by the way , we get to keep the Parthenon...:-)

I'd be interested in the reasoning that leads to the thought that even a single one of the proposed changes would do any good at all. Granted, if "good" is defined as "cultural purity" or some similar concept, I suppose it's possible. But I can't imagine it all resulting in anything but another 3rd-world country wracked by internal conflict and multiple conflicts with bordering nations.
Out of curiosity, would Greek Jews also have to leave with the Muslims? And would only Orthodox Christians be allowed to stay or would they finally come to terms with Roman Catholics?

I think c_hockland is nore oncerned by the recent mass immigration from Albania and North Africa rather than the Muslim minority left behind after the population exchange with Turkey.

I think andyalder is right to the point. I am concerned about the recent mass immigration. Unfortunately is very difficult to change something that was agreeded many years ago. Besides the muslim minotiry that is in Greece right now ( after population exchange with Turkey) has been living in Greece for many years. And , to their credit they have been very productive in society .
But , Greece is a bankrupt country , unable to absorb the new tsunami of refugees...they live in unhumane conditions.....they are forced to do the things they do...and all of this in the abyss of economic havoc....
They say money is the evil of all things.... Wrong...Greece has proven that the evil is the lack of money...not the money its self..

What u r saying is 100% correct and i am with you 100%. Fear of God is the beginning of Wisdom...Of course we have to take down the leaders who dont believe in God but they server wealth..
