Insert Table help

I seem to not be able to graph the data in the attached.
I have spent too much time.
I give up.

I want to represent the last column (Close) over the dates in first column.
I am looking for a plot over time for the stock.
I click insert>Table and It looks like the data is selected but it doesnt plot the graph.

Let me know what I am doing wrong and please be specific.   thank you

    Insert-Table does not create a chart, it just creates a table. You need to insert a stock chart and first you will need to move the Volume column so that it is the first column of data in the table. Also, the first column appears (on my system anyway) not to be actual dates, so you will need to convert those too (copy a blank cell, then paste special-add onto the dates, or use Text To Columns).

    I see.  The dates were not dates and also the numbers were text.  I am ok now.  thank you....
