I'm not 100% sure of what you mean by parent/child in relation to sessions. But if you have two sessions that you are trying to synchronize, then the use of <a href="http://docs.oracle.com/javaee/6/api/javax/servlet/http/HttpSessionListener.html" rel="ugc">HttpSessionListener</a> is probably what you would be after.
