https file transfer software

Hi Experts,

Does anyone know of a software that uses HTTPS to transfer file?

I want to automate upload and download from a https:// address with a scheduler.

Does anyone know of a program of this sort?

Also I'm assuming software like wincp and ftpgetter dont support https??

Many thanks
Jedi

Have a look at WS_FTP.

http://www.ipswitchft.com/Products/Ws_Ftp_Pro/

This should do what you want.

Here is Microsoft's FTM, i.e. free solution:

Sorry, you can't schedule with this tool.

CuteFTP Pro supports HTTPS transfers. http://www.cuteftp.com/features.aspx
Has to be the PRO version though.

If you wanted to do it on a Cisco IOS: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/fundamentals/configuration/guide/cf_file-trnsfer_http.pdf

Assuming the website allows you to write to their site (not a very common privelege), another way would be a simple VBScript.  It may be asp/html specific to the page/site you are attempting to do it on though.  Basically, you inject a 'get' or 'post' into the code from the page and send it to the webserver to get the result you want.  But, basically its scripted, so you don't have to ever touch it.

Thanks heaps for your comments guys

So Far I am getting this error with WS_FTP:

Finding Host xx.xxxx.com.au ...
Connecting to XXX.XXX.XXX.XX:443
Connected to XXX.XXX.XXX.XX:443 in 0.064003 seconds
Initializing SSL Session ...
SSL session NOT set for reuse
SSL Session Started.
GET / HTTP/1.1
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Virtual user PC logged in.
Host type (1): SecureTransport/4.9.2
GET / HTTP/1.1HTTP/1.1 401 Authorization Required
HTTP/1.1 401 Authorization Required

Which looks like a SSL certificate issue? If it is how do i get a SSL certificate (create one?)

AND

Would I get the same error in the other softwares mentioned above(As in is the server asking for more authorization details, apart from just username and password)?

Hi Guys Finally figured out the issue: I changed the "https://" to "sftp://" - such a simple fix

wouldn't of been possible with all your help.

THANK YOU!
