Could you please clarify a little more? I'm unsure of the purpose of that particular DLL file.

tracedrfert, this eztw32.dll is used to scan documents from an application. It allows a window to pop with all scanners connected to your pc then you choose and saves the image in a particular folder. All you need is to call the right funtion inside the dll. In earlier versions of win7 it would be located at %windir% folder and there was the need to register it with regsvr32. But now with win7 it simply is not accepted because its a 32bit app. So I am wondering if there is any version or othjer replacement equivalent for win 7 64 bit.

The link I posted is for EZTwain on Windows 64 bit. There is also a toolkit to download that should help you figure out what is not working.
EZTwain should work without the bridge, so perhaps something is just configured wrong. How did you install it? Run the utility. It very well may tell you what you need.
