exchange 2003 and SSL for OWA, ActiveSync, and iPhone

I've been using Basic Authentication for ActiveSync and OWA without SSL. I have to make sure access from outisde is Secure, so need to install SSL. Without purchasing SSL certificate from Networksolution of GoDaddy, is there a way to make it work? OWA and activesync is just for our employees, so I don't think it's necessary to purchase yearly subscribed certificate.

There are users using OWA from outisde, iPhone, HTC.

$30 is all you are talking about for a 1 year cert, but you can generate your own if you install certificate services:

Once installed - you can request, approve and issue your own SSL certificate and then you can use my article to configure IIS to get SSL working for Activesync:

$49/yr in networksolution for xPress SSL. I stopped using it last time, now it looks cheap.

You are welcome.  Exchange 2003 is fairly easy to get working with a self-issued cert.

A 3rd party is much easier though ;)  Especially if your time is considered valuable and you have been beating your head against a wall for a few hours.

Thanks for the points.
