1> How do I install VMTools

2> If I have one VM, and install VMTools, and then install another VM on that same host, will VMTools have to be installed again on the newly created VM, or did the previous isntall work for it

    1) Open Vsphere -> Right click the VM and choose Guest -> Install VMTools
    For windows you should have the "CD" mapped to the CD drive.

    For Linux you'll need to follow the steps in this kb:

    2)  Yes, each VM will need VMWare Tools installed independently.

    Right Click the VM, and Select Install VMware Tools, login to the VM, if cdrom does not autostart, click setup on the cdrom, follow wizard, restart vm.

    VMware Tools needs to be installed on a per VM basis.

    Additional Info:  

    VMTools installs many features so you should consider installing it on all your VM's.  Updated video driver, updated Network Card Drivers, better storage drivers, enhanced Time Management (if you're using this feature and sync'n with the host), etc.
