Active Directory user cannot be authenticated to Sharepoint server

Due to some unknown issue, some of my users' account in Active Directory (Windows 2008 R2) were being locked, as a result, they cannot access to Sharepoint site until remove the "lock".  However; while it was being locked, the user can access to Exchange 2010 server as usual, no prompting for user name and password.  Apparently, affecting the Sharepoint only, where should I start to find out the problem?

Hi; after checking, I was wrong.  if the account is locked, the Exchange is not able to be accessed as well.

I am trying to find out why the accounts keep going to be locked, virus, or some other issue?  How can I check?

finally, we found the problem from a net-worm virus on one of the member server which brute-force the user account in domain.
