Cloned old hard drive to new one on a HP Pavilion running Win 7 Home Premium. 640GB HD. Everything on computer works with the exception of Quick Books. Get: "3rd party components are not found. Installation is being interrupted." error. Tried uninstalling program and reinstalling with no success. Is this a .Net framework problem or something else. Need to access this program (of course it is the only one that is really needed).

3rd Party Components could mean a 3rd party "app", something that was installed in QB on the previous machine that didn't transfer over properly.

After reinstalling, did you get the same error message?

QuickBooks V2012 needs .NET Framwork 4 to work. Earlier versions needed earlier versions of .NET.

Find the .NET Framwork setup verification tool at the folloiwing links:

Download it and run it. Verify that .NET 2 SP2, .NET 3 and 3.5 and .NET 4 Client and Full are all installed and verify properly. You do not need .NET 1

Make sure .NET Framework is fully working, then uninstall QuickBooks, restart and re-install QuickBooks.

Try these things and please let us know.

Turns out it was a registration problem - to do with QuickBooks security. Deleted registration file and was able to run, re-enter registration info and now works as before. Thank you for getting back to me on this issue.
