Track forward emails in exchange server 2003
We have Exchange 2003 running on Windows Server 2003 R2. Some users are setup with both a user and a contact (with external email address), all their emails are automatically forwarded to the contact via delivery options on the user.
We had the situation where three emails were receivied into our exchange server and delivered to the users internal email address but the forward did not work.
How can I see if the forwarded email left our exchange box or not? The forwarded emails to not show in the message tracking center?

I am not sure what you mean by 'track with the send'?

I mean if email was sent to ABC and forwarded to ABC@external.com ..... so track with Internal email address ABC.

OK, I may have not made myself clear. Track where.
If i look in the Message Tracking Centre only those emails which ABC sends to other users internally are shown. There is nothing showing for emails which are forwarded from ABC@internal.com to ABC@external.com

Do you have any firewall or gateway server .... if so did you try to track there ?

I had a look on our router but the log file covers basic things, I dont have access to our checkpoint firewall, I was hoping to find some way of looking at transaction logs or ? on the exchange server.
As you say you dont see any forwarding tracking on the server its very strange as this forwarding message will also be routed through the Exchange servers ?
How many Exchange servers do you have .... any FE servers ?

Yes this Exchange Server is a back end server - Will I see the forward email information on the FE Server?
