If you look underneath the affected software list it says SQL Server 2000,2005,2008,2008 R2. Under non-affected it lists SQL Server 2012.

So unless you are running SQL Server 2012, then yes it does affect SQL Server. You will have to more into the specifics on how it affects each to see if that is applicable to you. Although its better to actually test this in a non production environment first.

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

ok guys, if u r in the same predicament as me, what u need to do is unregister the new mscomctl.ocx, microsoft replaced, delete the file and register an older version which happens to be i had, make use of the regsvr32 cmd, if u r very worried about the security threat the old version may cause, then i don't have a solution for you sorry
