I need to know if the following is possible using SQL Server

1. EMail updates to SQL Server - eg email notes to a Notes field of a particular contact
2.  Request data for a particular contact via email - eg send contact name and required field and receive relevant data back via email.

If this is possible, how is it achieved??

Many thanks

Without client software on SQL Server (not recommended) you cannot "EMail updates to SQL Server".  SQL Server can however email data.  The how depends on your version of SQL Server.
