microsoft word Read-Only Problem

I am having trouble with a Read only doc.  I've been working on a Doc for a few days and have been saving it as I go.  As of today, I've opened it and tried to save and it wont let me because its a Read Only Doc now.  I have tried to follow the step to deselect the Read-only box but it is not selected.  If you could please help that would be amamzing!  Thank you!

    Open a new document and go to Insert - Text - Object - Text From File. Select your problem document and press Insert. Save the new document and it should work as normal.
