Learning beginners SQL

I am a beginner to SQL. Can anyone recommended beginners SQL books(s).

Not sure which sql and its GUI  to download

Inside SQL Server 2008 T-SQL Querying, by Itzik Ben-Gan, has been invaluable to me.

If you're learning the express version of SQL should be good.

Well I use TOAD on the job. Wondering what GUI i can use with what ever  SQL i choose?

Management Studio for MSSQL is what most of the people use. It's free as the express versions of MSSQL I posted before.
