I have to 2 servers. One server has the SP2010 install. The other has SQL R2 and the SP databases. Where do I install SSRS so I can use integrated mode with SharePoint? On the SQL Server? The MS directions I've found are very confusing. I need to know which server to install SSRS and what mode to choose. Then, whatever else is necessary. Everytime I try I end up getting all kinds of errors.

SSRS must be deployed to a server with SharePoint installed.  So, I would advise you to just install to your SharePoint server.  Your other option is to install to your SQL box, but then you'd have to install SharePoint on it too.

You want SharePoint integrated mode.  Also, when you deploy SSRS on your SharePoitn box, you only need the Reporting Services.  You don't need to install the database engine.

So install SSRS on the SP2010 server, not the SQL R2 server?

If I install Reporting Services to my SP 2010 Box what instance do I choose?

You dont choose one.  You create one.  There should be any SQL instances already on your SharePoint box.

When you go to create your reporting database, you can run tell it to create on your regular SQL server.

I created my instance and named it SSRSIntegration. Now what do I do with the RS Config Manager? I'm not sure which database to choose. Can it be any I want that already have reports created or?

You need to create a new database.  I'm assuming any you have already aren't SharePoint Integrated mode anyways.
