hi experts,

 I have a windows 7 pro computer that keeps giving me this error message when I try to install a program.

smartupdateinstaller.exe has stopped working

How do I fix this?

    What are you trying to install?  It sounds like something that is at least somewhat proprietary, and the smartupdateinstaller.exe is directly related to the install routine.  If that's the case, you would need to cross-reference any type of available FAQ, online help file, or troubleshooting guide related to that application.
