Hello Experts,

I am running Windows 7 and i have version 9.0

I have been given some movies in a Zip file however when i double click to open the Zip file i get this error, Cannot open file: it does not appear to be a valid archive
If you are downloading this file try downloading it again

- So he transfered it to me via Pidgin Messaging tool its on my pc and i can see the file size 2gb

Can you please advise on what the workaround is to be able to open this

Many thanks

Have you tried opening it on a different computer to confirm that the file is actually valid?

Try to open other zip file if it's open then your transfer zip file might be corrupted.

split the originals and re-zip at smaller file size, use 7zip and the .7z extension with maximum compression to make smaller files

If the original Zip unpacks fine on the source computer, then during transfer to your computer the Zip file has corrupted data, but you may still be able to unpack it by selecting "keep broken files" in the options of WinRAR.
You can try WinRAR before buy, its trial version is available in downloads

Otherwise you will need to get the file again from a non corrupted original.
