Use a Combo Box to Filter a Form

I have a form that displays measurements of tools. These tools are specific in that they have a part number. However, there are several tools that have the same part number. Each tool with the same part number is being measured individually. The tools that are being measured individually are measured in batches.

For example, tool AR555 is a specific make of the tool, but there could be a hundred AR555's being measured. out of the hundred there could be 4 different batches of 25

As a result, I have multiple AR555 instances in my table. they are separated into batches. What I want to do is look up AR555 and, instead of showing only the  AR555 associated with a batch(25), have it display all instances of AR555(100)-Combine all instances of AR555.

As it stands, when I go to look up a part number in my combo box, there are several instances of AR555, depending on the number of batches. In this case 4 instances of 25.

1)The first thing I would like to do is have my combo box only show one instance of AR555 even if there is multiple instances(I would be showing all results of AR555 so there wouldn't be a need to have them separated).

2)The second thing I would like to do is have all instances of AR555 combined in the subform in a single datasheet view after it is selected from the list box.

Note: AR555 is not an actual Part Number

An example of the db is attached, just in case I didn't explain it correctly.

Hope its not to confusing- Thanks

Can you give a detailed instructions of what to do to see the problem.
Open form, select combo ..., select item ... and so on
Expected this but getting that.

Open the form, select the combo box part number. Were there are multiple part numbers, I want these combined into one.

I also want the subform to display all the part, numbers

All the part numbers that are selected. Instead of displaying one record of the part number at a time, display all the records for that partnumber

Sorry! Unable to follow.

Steps:
Select comb box Part Number and select item MP203-0591-010F
Many records are displayed under cutter tool measurement, Tool#, Bin, ....
few records displayed in subform, sort bin, Dia Avg, ...
Then .....?

If you look in the combo box, you see that there are many instances of MM5D8-0292-046LDF
5 to be exact.

Instead of having to select those 5 records separately, I want to be able to choose only MM5D8-0292-046LDF once and show every instance of MM5D8-0292-046LDF's measurements- having every instance of MM5D8-0292-046LDF combined to appear in the subform.

Combo box- make MM5D8-0292-046LDF only show once
Subform - Combine all instances of MM5D8-0292-046LDF to appear in subform

Subform- when MM5D8-0292-046LDF is clicked in combo box, all of the measurements for MM5D8-0292-046LDF would be available in the subform

Can you upload a copy of the database after deleting all the records but a few.  Need the records to be visible in the sub form.

So right now you have the subform ordered by Tool numbers.  Once you combine all batches into the subform, you will have multiple 1's, 2's, 3's etc. in that field.  Is that right?

The subform is ordered by batches- each batch can have several tool numbers. Each tool numbers has several tools that are being measured. I would like to combine the tool's with the same numbers so that all there measurements are associated with one tool number.

@urogenital yes that is right

I'm not sure if you selected my question as the answer because it helped you figure out the solution or what.  If it did, then that's great.  I still did have a question though but if you've got it working then please just ignore this.

I would like to combine the tool's with the same numbers so that all there measurements are associated with one tool number.
Are you saying that the subform should not have duplicate tool numbers when this is filtered by PartNumber?  If I filter for ToolNumber 1, PartNumber MP203-0591-010F, there are 59 records.  How would you want to combine these since they show various max and min diameters?
