Folder redirection - Windows 7

All users have their desktop folders redirected via GPO.
I want to move all of these desktops to a new server.

I have setup another GPO (For testing)
I've set the permission of this new GPO to only apply to a test user.
I've denied permissions of the old GPO to the test user.

I've logged in as the test user, the users desktop files were successfully moved to the new location. But the test users desktop is blank, and still appears to be pointing to the old location.

Any suggestions?
Permissions are the same as the old folder structures, and given the user's desktop files were successfully moved I don't think this is a permissions error.

Check the folder permission at the new location test user mush have read and write permission on the new location.

Are your machines using offline folders. That causes a delay as it first needs to sync up.

If possible I would use distributed files system to sync the data between the servers. During the move ..
Anything in the event error logs?  Folder Redirect Error or anything like that?  If so, post details...

After a few logoffs and on again this began working fine.
