Webmin on Ubuntu

I previously had webmin working on a ubuntu server. I dont know why it stopped working, but if i try an reinstall i get the following:

root@s15952154:~# apt-get install webmin
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package webmin is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package webmin has no installation candidate

I have removed webmin and tried reinstalling but no joy

First in the /etc/apt/sources.list file comment the cdrom line again by putting a # in front of it. You only need it if you are planning to look for packages on a CD which is hardly used when you have a decent internet connection. (This is what E:Package webmin has no installation candidate is trying to say)

When you run

sudo apt-get update

you synchronize what you have installed with the repositories online. Then when you run

sudo apt-get upgrade

you upgrade installed packages to newer versions (if available).

To install a package from the repository you run

sudo apt-get install <packagename>

If the package is available in the repositories listed in the sources.list it will install along with any necessary dependencies.

It looks like you installed the dependencies needed (not sure because I don't use webmin) but that the webmin package itself is not in the repositories.
