Intel Server - Windows 2008 R2 64bit - random freezing

I have a customer that has an intel whitebox computer.
motherboard S5520HC
24GB Ram

It runs a MS SQL based ERP system called visual 2000.
They don't have any idea what would be causing the freezing.

Every couple of weeks the server freezes - no numlock just frozen.
We have to hold the power button down until it goes off.
Then we bring it back up, everything works fine.

There doesn't seem to be anything in the event logs.

Can I open a ticket with Microsoft to help find out what is going on to cause the freezing?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

if you are using raid - check raid logs - maybe one of the hard drives is failing

have you tried bios update and raid firmware update?

I have upgraded the firmware on the raid controller.
I have also upgraded motherboard, chipset and controller drivers.

So far the system is stable.

It is too soon to know for sure.

If it remains stable I will close the question.
