Publish to Web server lost styles and images

My app runs great locally. I published to the web server 2008 (which I have a ton of sites published successfully and have done this many times before)... and when I go to the page to look at it, none of my images display, although they are clearly in the directories, and none of my style sheets are taking effect.

What could I be missing?

Then your paths are probably wrong, cannot tell anything from an image.

The CSS is in the App_themes directory. Paths are virtual. And viewing source code points to the images right where they should be.

    A link to the page?
If you have FF use firebug and it will tell you if there are problems with the resources.

I shut down the webserver entirely. REbooted. Created a new website from scratch. Shut down my dev laptop entirely, rebooted. Republished and time time it worked fine.
