OpenPOP works fine on development but fails with System.Net.Socket exception on Windows Server 2008 Web Edition server due to failure to respond timeout. Can TCP/IP be used on this Windows edition and if so does anything need enabling. (Firewall is disabled).

OpenPOP is just a 3rd party product for accessing mail from within an ASP.NET application. It just uses Sockets to access the necessary IP address but for some reason is not able to access the necessary address.

Granular recovery for Microsoft Exchange

With Veeam Explorer for Microsoft Exchange you can choose the Exchange Servers and restore points you’re interested in, and Veeam Explorer will present the contents of those mailbox stores for browsing, searching and exporting.

Can't find Telnet on the server but can ping the IP address okay but not sure how to ping the required port 110 ? ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 110 responds as bad parameter.

You are right. Telnet does not connect from the server but is does from development. Though the server FW is turned off since this is a hosted server perhaps the hosting company (1and1) blocks it ?
