Displaying large fields in Crystal Report XI

I am using CR XI.

We have a table that has a varchar column that is 3000 characters.

In CR XI this shows up as a string field of 255.

Is there anyway i can display all 3000 characters?  Is this fixed in a later version of CR?

    Accepted Solution

WHat do you mean it shows as 255?

CR9 "fixed" the 255 character limit.
CR XI should be able to see it in its full length.

Have you tried putting it on the report and setting it to grow and see what you get?

    What database?

    What database connection method?

Is the report upgraded from an older version?
    did you "verify database" yet?

i understood from your comments that it should work... so i looked a little closer and disovered the report was based on a view... and the view needed to be refreshed (sp_refreshview) to incorpprate the changes made in the underlying tables.

    So thank... its fixed.
