VMWare, vCenter Converter Standalone

I watched the Video of explaining the P2V and V2V suggested in another thread, and tried to use the program.

My have the vCenter Converter and the ESXi Client on the same machine, and have two host machines with the hypervisor and multiple Windows VM's on those two machines

   Machine 1: vCenter Converter Standalong
ESXi Client (which can access machine 2 and machine 3)

Machine 2: contains hypervisor and 4 VM's (all WIndows)

Machine 3: contains hypervisor and 4 other VM's (all WIndows)

I opened my vCenter Converter Standalone

I hit the "Convert Machine" button, and the "Source System" GUI popped up.

I try to pull down the drop down list of the "IP address or name" field.

However, there are no hostnames or IP addresses in the drop down list

I put in the IP, uid, and pw of the machine which the client can connect to, but I get the following error message:

Unable to contact the specified hsot '9.9.9.9'.  The host might not be available on the network, there might be a network configuration problem, or the management services on the host are not responding.

However, the client can connect to this server, and shows it as active

What should I do from this point ?

you need to connect to a Computer to Convert or an IP/Hostname of the Host Server, when using Virtual Infrastructure Machine
