404 Error in Dynamics 2011
I am currently having an web error when accessing the web version of Dynamics 2011. I am receving the following message "404 - File or directory not found. The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable"
I recently had an issue with an SQL 2008 trial license expiring which was hosting the CRM database. I am trying to figure out whether this is an issue with the SQL box or IIS.
Thanks,
tg

I have my instance back up and running with a license key from Microsoft, but CRM is still unavailable. I have also rebooted both servers. But I am presented with the same message.
OK, on the CRM server please check that the World Wide Web service is started.
Also, please look at the CRM Deployment Manager and check that the organization(s) is/are enabled. Have a look at each ones properties and ensure that they reference the correct SQL server.
On the CRM Server, have a look at the Windows error log in Application and System to see if there are any helpful relevant error messages.

Check the organizations and it shows enabled, but when choose properties it Displays the following "The instance of Microsoft SQL Server where the organization database is located is unavailable"

Thanks!! That was it. Now I need to figure out how to re-enable the unavailable CRM config db..
Do you mean the MSCRM_CONFIG database? Is that not showing up in SQL Server?
ASKER
Yes.. It is showing up but its telling me that it is inaccessible when trying to manage in SQL Management Studio. I also have all permissions to access the database.
And despite this, CRM is working?
Hmm, most strange.
I would consider detaching the database and then attaching it back but only if I was confident I had a reliable current backup.

CRM absolutely needs SQL Server to work.
