Exporting SSRS Charts to Excel

I have seen older posts online and on this site regarding exporting SSRS charts to excel.  I was wondering if there have been any current solutions or workarounds to this issue.  The problem is when you export a chart to excel it appears as a jpeg image so you cannot modify any of the values.  Outside of generating just the raw data and exporting that to excel and create my graph from excel is there anyway in SSRS 2008 to just export the graph and achieve this result?  I am running SQL 2008 R2 SP1.  Not sure if upgrading would address this issue.  Please advise.

No, sorry, still not possible. And I don't think it will be for the next few years also. The graph engine in SSRS is much more advanced than the one in Excel.
