Network card NIC configuration questions windows XP - computer doesn't know there's a card installed?

Have a PC that has a NIC in it.  It gets on the LAN and web fine.

But if you go into network connections, you see the NIC listed, it says it's connected. Go into properties, double click on internet protocol and you get a box 'in order to configure TCP/IP, you must install and enable a network adapter card.

If you go to dos, type IP config, it lists that card with an active IP address.

ANy advice?

Is it configured to use DHCP?

Do you have more than one card?

Can you show snap shots ?

In device manager, uninstall the network card and reboot the computer. The Windows should find the NIC once you login. This may now allow you to access the TCP/IP Settings.

Thanks,
S.

Uninstall the current driver and reinstall it again. That should fix the issue.
