Hi veematics,

unfortunately HTML5 Video isn't really all that great because it isn't implemented the same across browsers and you have to use the specific filetype and encoding for it to work at all.

Check this out: http://www.robwalshonline.com/posts/tutorial-serving-html5-video-cross-browser-including-ipad/

I believe your mp4 needs to be encoded in h.264 for webkit and ogg for firefox.

also iirc firefox and opera can not play mp3 so I think the audio for the video can't be encoded in that.

Eventually if all the browsers can implement the same filetypes/encodings then our lives would be much easier. Until then you will probably need multiple copies of the same video in separate filetypes/encodings to get it to work on the majority of browsers.

The best choice for you right now is that you use flash video player for video streaming and use .flv file extension for your videos so that you don't have problems with cross browsers.

There are many flash players to play FLV files online, you can try:

Or you can create your own.

the reason i move from flash, is the compatibily in Ipad/Iphone and "Upcoming" Android, which not support swf file.

i found mediaelementjs.com is the right solution for me, since it have fallback feature for desktop.

@jrm213jrm213, i thought it would be "easy migration" it turns out it quite lots of task since no 'standard' in video streaming
