Outlook 2010 "People Pane" opens two browser windows when any email clicked.

My Outlook 2010 is running on Windows 7 Pro. I have been using Outlook for several months with no trouble. Now, if I am using the "People Pane", whenever I click on an email, two browser windows immediately open.

I have now shut off the "People Pane", but I'd like to be able to use it. These pop-ups are so distracting, that I can't.

I have tried all the Outlook command switches that MS show in their help section, without success.

I checked the Account Settings for the People Pane, and nothing was checked.

The pages that pop up have urls similar to:

file:///C:/Users/myUserName/AppData/Local/Temp/%7B6028BD64-6D4C-40DE-A1DA-928398949779%7D.html

and usually show "There are no items to show in this view.", but sometimes a page will show an unformatted list of urls.

The comment pointed me in a direction that gave me a partial fix, but it did not actually solve my issue, nor did the poster ever reply to my follow-up. That explains the B ranking, which may be generous.

I just switched off the "People Panes". This disables a useful feature, but at least I can use my Outlook. If you find an answer, PM me and I'll open a new question for you to answer.
