Exchange 2007 - E-Mails will not move to old subfolders

Problem:
Unable to move e-mails to subfolders in Outlook 2010(Connected to Exchange 2007 MAPI).

Tested:
Noticed that the problem only happens on old subfolders that have existed for a while(most have content in them). If I make a new folder in Outlook or OWA I then can move e-mails into them.

Question:
What can cause this problem in the first place and what can be done to fix it?

are the subfolders on a datafile on the drive? or is the folder on the exchange as well?
Move the mailbox to a different database to rule out corruption.

You can also try the latest outlook 2010 hotfix:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2598374
I would tend to say these Subfolders are contained in a PST.
If they are contained in a PST Right click on the personal Folder
Then look at the properties

Look at the Advanced Button
What type of Personal Folder is it?

If its OUtlook 97-2003 Personal Folder, its going to have a maximum size of 2GB

If it just says Outlook Data File, its going to have a maximum size of 20GB

Now look at the size fo the PST
Is it anywhere close to the limits

If it is, the reason you cannot add to them would be due to them reaching their maxium size limit, comming close to the size limit, or possible corruption

No they are not on a datafile. They are on the exchange as it is within the folder tree of the exchange account and not a separate datafile. Plus you can view these folder in OWA.

Move the mailbox to a different database to rule out corruption.

Sorry, no it couldn't be an Outlook problem as I forgot to metion that the move problem even happens in OWA. But I will try the move to another database idea.

I am assuming it is a permission problem on the folders but I am not sure as they look correct.
Let us know if the mailbox move works or not.

What exact error do you get when you try moving throough Outlook and OWA?

No error messages from Outlook. OWA says "The item or items could not be moved to the folder you chose. Choose a different location and try again."

I am going to do the move tonight so I will let you know later.
Well lets see if move mailbox resolves...hope it will if there is mailbox corruption...will be waiting to see the result
So, the move went without any problems. However after logging into the mailbox in outlook and OWA the problem is still happening. Just like before, in Outlook the file will appear to have moved but doesn't. In OWA IE the drag and drop gives a blocked icon when over the folders in question and when using the move command from right click menu it get the error stated above.
What Exchange 2007 service pack and rollup are you on? This was supposedly fixed in E2k7 SP3 RU1: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/980725

RU8 is out for E2k7 SP3:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2734323
What is the version of Exchange and is Outlook in cache or Online ?
Hope this if for the Main mailbox and not shared or additional Mailbox ?

What is the size of OST and hope its not corrupted ?
Did you try to re-create a new Outlook profile ?

Regards
